Hey, how's everyone doing?

Hopefully everyone's doing okay, and that my dad hasn't done anything too crazy. He does that sometimes, but it's not to scare anyone, just in case someone was wondering.

If anyone new has arrived, my name's Promise, and I live with my dad Derrick and his friends.

I like to take walks, making friends, and going shopping, so if you're new and don't have a lot of friends yet, just let me know, and we'll figure out something to do.

Great. Now everyone's getting balls thrown at them.

Next time I get hit in the face by one, I'm going to just throw it right back. I don't care if it's at a tree or a rock. This is getting annoying.

Hey, this new wilderness is pretty cool!

Dad, if you don't mind, I'm going to be spending a lot of time down there. There's just so much to see!

Oh yeah, if anyone wants to come too, let's figure out a place to meet. And hi to all the new people! It looks like there's a lot of you this time. It's a lot to get used to, when you've first arrived, but I bet your greeter explained everything to you. As well as they could, anyway.

But you'll get used to it eventually, I think. And, well, everyone here is pretty nice, so they wouldn't mind explaining things to you again.

Hey, so this place is called Edensphere, right? That’s a really interesting name. It sounds like something from a fantasy book. I’ve never really liked those, but still, it’s a creative name to give a world like this one.

So, yeah, I was just born. I wasn’t really sure what name to give myself, but I think Promise is a nice name. I like it, anyway, and that’s good enough, isn’t it?

Derrick, thanks again for your help. I'm all settled in now, I think. Anyway, it's really easy to move in when you don't own anything.

I think I'm going to take a walk now.

I kind of want to pay you back, but I don't really know with what, unless you like candy. I'll think of something eventually, but if you have any ideas at all, just tell me.

I know it's weird, but I really wish I could fly right now.

I kind of need a favor.

It's a long story, but I was at work as usual, but then I ended up chasing a cat around the marketplace. I'm pretty sure he was a stray, because he looked really hungry. But anyway, I kind of tripped and got a little scraped up.

It's not a big deal; I could probably take care of it myself, but I kind of don't have any supplies. So if I stopped by to see someone at the clinic, would that be okay?

Okay, really? If I hadn’t just been told that this was normal, that everyone arrives the same way, I’d be thinking I’ve gone crazy.

I mean, falling out of a cocoon? Being “born” with no memories and no name at all? That just sounds like something from a book, and a really weird one too. Well, I mean, I have a name, but I have no idea if it’s my real name or anything.

And, if the dream is the only thing I remember, then what I saw isn’t helpful at all. I just saw some man talking to me, and apologizing, but I don’t know who he is or why he was apologizing. And what he was doing hugging me. He felt familiar somehow, like I should know who he was.

Oh well... I guess complaining isn’t going to get me anywhere. I guess if anyone’s reading this, my name’s Promise. My twin Sparkle and I picked out names for each other, and that’s the one he chose for me.
